Web Enabled Applications

This part of GCSx CoCo makes a lot of recommendations about web application use and addresses common security issues such as the priviledges of users, ActiveX controls, Active content (e.g. JavaScript and VBScript), HTTPS access and all the Java Virtual Machine.  

If controls are not in place to secure these elements it would be seen as a good idea to diable all access, but many of these applciations can now be monitored by an array of available products ranging from commercially available products to open source code.
