This software product retains a full auditable copy of emails. It indexes messages and attachments so that historic email can be found in seconds. It Uses compression to reduce storage requirements and if a message is sent with an attachment to 10 people it will only save 1 copy of the message and attachment.

- There is an option to stub attachments. Stubbing is the process of replacing large attachments with shortcuts in the users inbox and storing the attachments in the archive

Advanced Search for Electronic Discovery
Message Archiver has an advanced linguistic search engine which can granularly search for any email. When it archives email it does full-content indexing of the messages and attachments for quick searches.
You can search by recipient, subject, message body, or attachments;
- Use wildcards (an asterisk,*) in any field;
- Limit search results to keywords that are close to one another. This is called proximity search.
- It can search out keywords with the same root. For example a search for “archiving” would return results also for “archive”, “archives” and “archiver.”
- Or it can search for words which are similar or even misspelled by using a fuzzy logic technique.
The search results can be saved in a folder or exported from the archive in their native message format. (.eml format)

Message Archiver efficiently stores email and attachments.
Older messages can be deleted from the mail server once they arein the archive where they can be searched and accessed.
Current mail in the Exchange server can be reduced in size further with attachment stubbing. Large attachments can be replaced with shortcuts or stubs in the user’s inbox. The attachment is moved to the archive where it is compressed. Users can still quickly access the attachments by clicking on the shortcut
To reduce storage requirements it compresses email and attachments. It also stores attachments with single instance storage. If you send a 5MB PowerPoint file to 10 people, it will only store one copy of the attachment in the archive.
The benefit is faster and less expensive mail server backups.
